Cerebral Palsy affects movement, muscle tone, and motor skills — but intelligence is entirely separate. Many children with CP have average, above-average, or exceptional intellectual ability and are fully capable of academic achievement when the right physical and communication accommodations are in place. The first session is always an observation and planning session. The tutor assesses the child's current academic level, communication method (verbal, AAC device, sign, eye-gaze), physical positioning for learning, fine motor abilities for writing, and attention span. A personalised education plan is then built — not copied from a generic template.
We coordinate closely with the child's physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and speech therapist to ensure the tutoring sessions reinforce (and never conflict with) the child's overall rehabilitation goals. Parents are updated after every session with notes on progress and what to practise at home.
